We want to welcome Douglas "Thamin" Van Dyke Jr. as our story writer. He has published several books that have very deep and compelling story lines. This is something that we are very excited to be bringing to this game.
We are breaking our testing into some very small segments in the beginning. Initial test will be set up to specifically target something that we need to make sure works correctly. Stay tuned for more information about when testing is starting. Registration is up already, so be sure you're getting signed up!

Well, no developers starting out will have the same story... Anyways, here's mine.
Someone asked me how long I had wanted to be a game developer. My answer surprised him, so I thought that I would explain publicly how I got into this. My answer was that I didn't know I wanted to be one until I was one.
I've always been known as an idea man. In fact, in the massive gaming organization I'm with, we joked around about giving me the official title of "guy that comes up with $h!t." Back in my the World of Warcraft glory days (yes, I think those are long past now) I was a part of an amazing guild. I was the chief strategy officer in a progression guild. We didn't have guides to use, we didn't have videos to watch about the boss fights. We helped make those. My job there was similar... come up with $h!t.
Now lets fast forward to a much more recent time. Lately, I've become really bored with many of the games that are out there right now. I don't have a "main game" that I play. I've been playing Overwatch as a filler as you can see in our YouTube channel, but it's not THE game for me. I'm excited about a few games that are in development like Crowfall and Ashes of Creation, but those are still quite a ways off. I've closely followed the developers for both of those games I mentioned, and following their conversations, it got me thinking about what kind of game I would really want to play. If I could have anything, what would it be.
Out of a lack of games that really hold my interest, I began playing around in Unity and watching YouTube tutorials about how to make simple games. I started experimenting with different things there and eventually came up with an interesting game idea. I started trying to learn how to program it and got stumped very quickly. One of the guys I play Overwatch with knew a bit about programming, so I asked if he would take a look at my code and tell me what I was doing wrong (it was a stupid case of not capitalizing a letter...), but we got to talking about my game ideas. He got excited, which got me more excited, and to make a long story short, we're making it! Since he's already quite familiar with the programming side, and I've run successful startups in the past, he's handling the technical side, and I get the piles of paperwork!
So, I had no idea I wanted to be a game developer until I became one. From one lifelong gamer to another, you'll want to follow this game closely!
It's really happening! Jinkrae Studios is proud to announce the launch of our new studio. We have already been underway on a new game that we are quite excited about. I can't count the times we've stayed up through the night not wanting to stop for sleep. As much fun as this is to be a part of, we know you'll have just as much fun playing this game.
We currently are working on developing one game, and have another finishing up it's concept phase and we should be starting development on it soon. A third incredible game is currently being considered for development, but we can't start on it until we get some more people aboard here. That is where Patreon comes in!
Your support of our company will get you access to the development side of the industry. Certain levels of Patreon supporters will be able to listen in on closed developer meetings, and all Patreon supporters will have almost constant access to developers when they're online.

Progress is being made! Jinkata has been brilliantly implementing skills, abilities, debuffs, and more to the characters. The map functionality is working well. We are so excited about this. Personally, I cannot wait to play this game! We're working with an artist now for character and environment models so we can get rid of the placeholder models soon. We'll be putting up some of the art in the fan-art section for you to enjoy later as well.
We are looking to really focus a lot on a risk vs. reward thought process for the players. Do you want that extra edge at the cost of something else? Do you push for that last bit of damage or fall back to regroup? We don't want to make a mindless game,so be prepared to be challenged and customize your play-style to fit the situation.
It is really hard not to unveil more details, but that will have to come later. These are exciting times at Jinkrae Studios.
